Energy-efficient warm water radiant heating!

Why radiant floor?
Why water?
Why not Radiators?

We've done the research for you:

Quiet, efficient and healthy; radiant heating delivers warmth directly to the body without overheating and drying out the room's air.

Radiant warm-water heating can make you forget that it's cold outside; nothing else is as comfortable.

A radiant warm-water heating system turns your floor into a large, low-temperature radiator, distributing warmth evenly throughout the room.

Radiant systems run silently and don't cause drafts. Your thermostat can be set lower because heat is distributed evenly, saving energy and reducing your heating bills. Radiant heat is healthier too.

In contrast: normal radiators use convection to heat the air in the room. This means that cold air is pulled across the floor as the warmed air is sent quickly to the ceiling producing uneven heat and wasting energy. Warm-air and Forced-air systems also spread dust and pollen which may aggravate allergies.

Radiant floor heating systems come in two types: hydronic or electric. Both types can be installed under almost any floor finish.

  • Hydronic: using heated water
  • Electric: using heated-wires/elements like an electric-blanket

Hydronic radiant heating (also called: warm-water underfloor heating) means that the entire floor slab can be heated off-peak when energy rates are lowest. The heated slab's thermal mass then keeps your room warm through the peak-demand periods, maintaining cozy temperatures without extravagant costs.

Electric radiant floors  will not give you the benefit of thermal mass like a hydronic (warm-water) system does.
